FAQ

Is Overture Matte PLA Compostable?
Overture Matte PLA is made from renewable resources but is not suitable for home composting. It requires industrial composting conditions to degrade effectively.
Why is it easier to remove support of Matte PLA?
Matte PLA contains added inorganic particles that give it a matte finish and help reduce adhesion to supports, making them easier to remove. However, keep in mind that Matte PLA, including Matte PLA-based Carbon Fiber PLA, has lower strength and layer adhesion than standard PLA.
What is the color change cycle for Rainbow?
The total length of a color change cycle is about 37 meters. A 1 kg roll has around 9 color change cycles, featuring four colors: blue, green, yellow, and purple. Each color in a cycle is approximately 6-7 meters long. For small print pieces, the gradient may not be very noticeable. Increasing the material consumption in your slicer settings can help enhance the gradient effect.
What is the color change cycle for Candy Rainbow?
The total length of a color change cycle is about 80 meters. A 1 kg roll contains about 4 color change cycles, featuring seven distinct colors: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. In one cycle, red, orange, green, cyan, blue, and purple are each around 8-10 meters long, while yellow is about 2-3 meters. For smaller prints, the gradient effect might be less apparent. You can enhance the gradient by increasing the material consumption in your slicer settings.
Does the color Matte Wood contain wood fibers?
No, Matte Wood does not contain actual wood fibers. The wood-like appearance is achieved through the use of colorants, so you don’t need to worry about any printing issues related to fibers.
What effect does dual-color filament create?
Dual-color filament features colors blended into a single strand, creating a smooth gradient that transitions between the two colors. You can easily adjust the visible color by changing the orientation of the color-blending filament, allowing for varied color effects in your prints.
Is Overture Matte PLA-CF suitable for engineering?
No, Matte PLA Carbon Fiber is based on Matte PLA with added carbon fiber. While it has slightly better Charpy Impact Strength than standard PLA, its bending strength and layer adhesion are noticeably weaker. Therefore, PLA-CF is not suitable for engineering applications. If you're looking for carbon fiber texture or a matte black finish, then PLA-CF would be the better choice.
